Patricia Beckett graduated in law from Middlesex University in 1997.

Patricia joined our firm in 1998 and qualified as a solicitor in 2002.

She was made a partner in 2010.

Patricia specialises in Children and Family law, and her areas of work include private law children work, public law children work for parents, divorce/dissolutions and financial remedy, and Family Law injunctions, as well as cohabitation law.

She has a particular interest in Children Act work, especially representing parents in care proceedings. Patricia has a lot of experience in representing clients with mental health conditions and learning difficulties. She has been instructed by the Official Solicitor on many occasions. She also has significant experience in representing and assisting grandparents in obtaining contact with, or residence or special guardianship of their grandchildren.

Patricia really enjoys the challenges of financial remedy work and has experience in cases involving substantial assets, and also modest income and asset cases, which can be more difficult to resolve in practice. Resolution by negotiation is always her aim

Patricia has been a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel since 2005. Patricia is also a member of the Law Society Advanced Family Panel in the areas of Private Law Children & Violence in the Home. Patricia is a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children and Resolution.

Patricia is ranked in the Legal 500 as a recommended lawyer. She was described in 2016 as `excellent’ and ‘able to quickly identify the key point in each case’, and in 2017 as ‘kind and wise, and totally professional’.

Patricia prides herself in simplifying legal language and procedures for her clients to make the law accessible for all. She undertakes both legal aid and privately funded work.

Interests: Socialising, reading, yoga & mindfulness, and gardening.
