Wilson Solicitors LLP
Caseworker Vacancies
Public Law and Human Rights Department

We are a leading UK legal aid firm.

We are seeking caseworkers to join our highly regarded Public Law and Human Rights department.

We are looking for people committed to representing clients in legal proceedings against government. In return, you will join a community of dedicated professionals and receive the support you need to develop your career.

We are committed to increasing diversity within our department and removing barriers to entering the legal profession. We recognise that a diverse and genuinely inclusive team benefits both our department and the clients we represent.

We particularly welcome applications from people belonging to groups that are under-represented in the profession.

The caseworker role

Caseworkers in the Public Law and Human Rights department work on judicial reviews, claims against public authorities and community care cases. Our inquests and inquiries practice is also expanding.

In every role, you will help our solicitors prepare cases and will have substantial contact with clients. You will receive excellent training, supervision and support.

You will begin as a caseworker and, after successfully completing a six-month probationary period, may start a period of recognised training.

Training contracts are available to those who have completed the LPC or are studying for it part-time.

For those qualifying through the SQE route, work undertaken as a caseworker after completing the six-month probationary period will count towards the required two years of qualifying work experience. To be eligible for employment as a solicitor with the firm, SQE candidates must complete two years in a training position with us.

The starting salary is £31,500 for caseworkers and £33,000 for first-year trainee solicitors, rising to £35,000 for those who have passed the LPC or SQE1.
