Wilson Solicitors’ Public Law & Human Rights team is thrilled to welcome solicitor Jonah Mendelsohn to the team. Jonah trained and qualified in the public law at Duncan Lewis Solicitors where he led judicial review claims relating to the Home Office’s use of GPS technology to track migrants subject to immigration control. He also worked on test cases and policy challenges relating to the provision of access to justice for immigration detainees held in prisons and the Windrush Scheme. More recently, he worked as a legal officer at the NGO, Privacy International where he filed third-party interventions, developed legal challenges and provided training on challenging human rights abuses arising from the uses of novel technologies by governments and corporations.
Jonah has extensive experience in judicial reviews and civil claims upholding migrant rights, including in urgent contexts, such as detention and removal. He has a particular interest in challenging abuses of data arising from the deployment of new technologies, such as GPS tracking and algorithmic decision making, in immigration enforcement.
If you would like Jonah to represent you or a person you are supporting, he can be contacted by phone on 020 8275 4386 or by email on j.mendelsohn@wilsonllp.co.uk.
