To become part of the Wilsons team, you will need to share our passion for delivering justice for all, through high quality, specialised advice and considerate client service. When we recruit solicitors we usually require candidates to be accredited with the appropriate Law Society panel and have sufficient experience to act as or become a supervisor.
We take training the next generation of solicitors seriously. There are around 15 trainee solicitors with us at any one time. We give our trainees the chance to experience three areas of work– from public law, family and immigration. Most of our trainee solicitors initially work with us as a caseworker or paralegal.
We are committed to widening access to the legal profession as far as possible and in January 2021 we launched our graduate solicitor apprenticeship programme, allowing those with one year’s casework experience with us and a law degree (or equivalent) to complete their training through the apprenticeship route. From September 2021 we welcome apprentices on a six year programme for aspiring solicitors with A levels (or equivalent) – read our information booklet here for more details and watch our Zoom information session here.
Caseworkers and Paralegals
A key part of our team are the talented, committed and enthusiastic people who support our solicitors and assist with their cases. For these positions you will need to demonstrate a commitment to the area of law through your studies or voluntary work and interests. You will need an excellent academic record and a passion for justice. A position as a caseworker or paralegal may lead to a training contract in the future.
