Sam studied Economics at the University of Sussex, graduating in 2016. He joined Wilsons in 2018 and became a caseworker in the Public Law department in July 2019.
Sam primarily assists with Judicial Review applications challenging detention and civil claims for false imprisonment. He has experience working with vulnerable detained clients, including victims of trafficking, and those with severe mental health problems.
Prior to joining Wilsons, Sam volunteered in Lesvos, Greece for Lighthouse Relief, an NGO that provides coordinated and structured emergency response to vulnerable migrants and refugees arriving on the island’s north shore. Sam also volunteered in the USA, for the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Tax Assistance Programme, where he helped low income clients, and those with disabilities to file their income tax returns in order to maintain access to benefits. He has also volunteered for Southwark Refugee Response.
